Somerset, New Jersey is a section of Franklin Township in Somerset county, New Jersey. It is important to know the county since New Jersey has four Franklin Townships. In fact, in a list of place names maintained by the US Census Bureau, there appear 182 place names containing Franklin or Somerset as part of its name. Of those, ours is the most populous (in 1990).
